SuperKids Preschool Program
Purpose Superkids Preschool is a structured, Bible-oriented teaching school for toddlers and preschool children. The preschool is a ministry of the church that seeks to develop each child in the unique way that God has intended, and to encourage spiritual, mental, physical, emotional, and social growth. We provide children with fun educational activities that are age-appropriate and will stimulate their minds.
Operating Days and HoursSuperKids meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Please do not arrive before 8:55 in the morning. The teachers need this time before 9:00 to prepare the rooms for your children. We follow the Lubbock Independent School District's calendar. If the Lubbock Public Schools are closed for any reason (snow days, holidays, etc.), Superkids Preschool will also be closed. Please watch the television stations for late start times in the event of bad weather. We start 30 minutes later than the posted LISD start time to give our teachers a chance to get their children to school and to get their rooms ready.
Student Pick-up Policy Only those people listed on a student's registration form may pick up that student. If someone other than one of those people will be picking up that student, the teacher and the director must be notified in writing by the parent. The letter must include the date, child's name, the name of the person to pick up the child, and parent signature. The person picking up the child must show his/her driver's license to the teacher and/or director to prove they are the person listed on the note.
Late Pick-Up Fees There will be a charge for children not picked up on time. SuperKids dismisses at 2:30 p.m. Please be on time to pick up your child as many of our teachers have children of their own in the public schools. Your late arrival will cause them to be late to pick up their children. Late charges will be assessed after 2:45 p.m. at a rate of $1.00 per minute.
Tuition In order to secure a place for your child, you must pay a $30.00 registration fee for each child upon enrollment. Tuition is due and payable on the first class session of each month. A late charge of 25.00 will be assessed if payment is not received by the 15th of each month. Please make checks payable to SuperKids Preschool. There will be a $25.00 charge for all returned checks.
Attendance, Illnesses, and Absences Parents are encouraged to avoid unnecessary absences since children have an easier time adjusting when attendance is regular. Please notify your child's teacher or the director if your child is going to be absent.
1. Please keep your child at home if he/she has any of the following: a. Fever b. Vomiting or Diarrhea c. Any symptoms of childhood diseases such as scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, etc. d. Any unexplained rash e. Any skin infection f. Any eye infection
We also ask that a child be fever-free for 24 hours after a contagious disease before coming back to school.
If your child becomes ill while at school, you will be contacted to make arrangements to take your child home. The child will be isolated and made as comfortable as possible awaiting your arrival.
Discipline Discipline will be based on the individual needs and development of each child. . The goal is to teach the child responsible and appropriate behavior, by redirecting the inappropriate behavior. No cruel or harsh punishment will be administered.
Discipline Procedures are as follows:
1. The child will be directed to a new activity. 2. The child will be separated from the group for a reasonable amount of time (one minute for each year of age). 3. The child will be brought to the preschool director. 4. The parent will be called.
Medication SuperKids Preschool teachers will administer medications only when absolutely necessary. All medication must be from the original labeled bottle and a medicine permission form must be signed.
Lunch The school provides snacks each morning. We ask that you provide a lunch for your child in a labeled lunch box or bag. Finger foods are suggested, as they are usually less messy. Also, please send something that does not have to be warmed up. The teacher is unable to leave the room to do this.
Birthdays SuperKids will celebrate your child’s birthday during his/her birthday week. Parents may provide cookies and juice for your child's class if you like. Cookies are suggested because they are less messy and easier to serve to small children. Also, please do not bring any type of red drink.
Toys and Personal Items Everything your child brings to school should be marked with his/her name. This applies to coats, sweaters, lunch boxes, diaper bags, bottles, etc. This will help eliminate lost articles.
Also, please encourage your child to leave his/her toys at home or in the car. SuperKids provides toys for the children, so personal toys are not needed. This helps prevent disruption.
Dress Please dress your child in comfortable, washable, sturdy clothing that can be easily pulled down when going to the restroom. Children 3 and under should bring a complete change of clothes, including socks, in case of accidents.
Naptime Please bring a labeled mat or blanket for you child to rest on and a standard size pillowcase to keep these items in. Please make sure your child's name is on the pillowcase as well as the mat in an easily visible location. These will be left at SuperKids and sent home periodically for washing.
Field Trips Field trips will be scheduled throughout the year, usually one a month. Field trips are for ages three and four. These will be posted on the monthly calendar and a note will be sent home. We often need parents to participate in the field trips. |
