May 2008 Good Times
My two sons were recently listening to their mom reading from a popular children’s book. The main character, a rambunctious kindergartener, was recalling a birthday party. The description sounded like near disaster. At the end of the monologue, she said five words of emphasis, “Good times, Nana. Good times.”
As I look back on the Community Group year (2007 – 2008) I could recount many near disasters. However, for every near disaster, there were so many moments of spiritual transformation! God truly resides among us. Community Groups become more and more a part of our identity. I hear from leaders and participants more and more how Community Groups continue to bear spiritual fruit for those that commit themselves to a group. This was certainly the case for myself and the group I led this year.
With this in mind, would you consider leading a group next year (2008 – 2009)? Would you consider committing to a weekly process that is part of REAL LIFE: Loving God, Loving Others, Serving the World? Some of you feel unequipped to lead a group or to commit to the process… I can assure you many feel that way going in. On the other side, however, they see the hand of God guiding both themselves and the group. Please call me (794-3594 ext 209) or email me (matthewk@sp-coc.org) about the possibility of leading a group for 2008 - 2009. You will be both blessed and a blessing to others.
Last month we started an annual survey for men to serve in the Sunday morning assembly. How do you participate? In an effort to save as many trees as possible, we are offering the survey online. Click the button below. It will take about 90 seconds to complete the survey and you’re done! Could it be any easier?
