This is an exciting time of the year.  School is nearly out!!!  Children’s Recognition Night is May 11th at 5 PM.  We want to take time to recognize our children’s achievements from the past year.  We will take this time to give Bibles to our Kindergarteners and 5th graders, recognize our Bible Bowlers, and welcome the new babies of the past year.  We will have the Bible Bowl Banquet following the service.  Also the Memory Work Banquet will be June 1st for all of the 1st- 5th graders involved in memory work.

This summer we will again be having the Timothy/Tabitha class on Wednesday nights for the 2nd-5th graders.  We will also have Adolescent Zone for the 4th graders on Sunday mornings.  A great summer is already in the works!

Thank you to the elders for their recognition of all the many people who serve the children of our church.  If you did not get to attend, you are still appreciated for your service to others.  As we are beginning the process of looking for a Bible Land’s Director, we still need people to help serve during the Summer quarter.  Thank you to all who are currently working in the Spring quarter.  We want to teach our children to love God, love others, and to serve the world.

KIDSafe

On Sunday, March 4th, we kicked off our KIDSafe child security program for our Birth through Kindergartners. Parents, you should have received a letter regarding this new program along with a registration form for each child age 0-Kindergarten.  If you have not yet received a form, you may pick one up in the church office or in your child’s Bible class or download a form below.

Click here to download a KIDSafe Registration Form you can print out and fill out (Adobe PDF format or Microsoft Word format).

A couple of things:

1.  Other pickups (anyone other than parents who can pick up your child from class) listed on your KIDSafe Registration must be adults 18 years of age or older with a photo I.D.  If you previously listed a minor sibling, please contact the church office at spcoc@sp-coc.org or 794-3594 to make changes on your form.

2.  The new KIDSafe system requires us to be more organized when it comes to promoting your children.  Therefore, we will evaluate each class roll quarterly to determine when children should promote based on birthdays.  You will receive a postcard in the mail informing you when your child is moving up.

The Caterpillars and Butterflies program was designed to guide mothers in teaching their daughters what the Bible says concerning social, emotional, and physical development for young girls as they prepare for womanhood.  K-5th graders are invited to join.  For more information, please visit the Caterpillars and Butterflies web page or contact Sonja Dixon at sonjad@swbell.net

Hide ‘N Seek Memory Work.  This program is headed up by Lisa Morrow and Rebecca Wiseman.  These ladies devote endless time and energy to seeing these scriptures written on the hearts of our children.  The mission statement of Memory Work is “We will HIDE God's word in our hearts, and SEEK Him first throughout our lives.”  Hopefully these memory verses - these priceless words of wisdom, encouragement, and direction - can be retrieved and help to build faith in times of joys, temptations, and struggles whenever they are needed most. We need many volunteers to listen to the children recite their memory work each week.  For more information, visit the Hide 'N Seek Memory Work web page.  If you would like to get involved in this very important ministry, please contact Lisa at morrowroglis@yahoo.com or Rebecca at wisemans@nts-online.net.
